Ready-to-assemble (RTA) , Knockdown (KD) , and Flat-pack furniture where the user completes the assembly, has overtaken the furniture market in the modern age. This design was created by a digital online program that was then cut out by a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) router. The exaggerated ovals of the legs and back of this chair are in the font of elegance. The unique structure and materiality of this chair contribute to its style. The purpleheart “tusks” add a subtle yet eye-catching contrast, enhancing the visual appeal while providing a functional tusked mortise and tenon joint. Incorporating newer technologies into craftsmanship has been influential in my ability to create more unique, contemporary designs. In the disassembled view, we see the individual components that make the chair portable and easy to construct without the need for tools or hardware. The flat-pack design is both efficient and sustainable, reducing the product’s footprint during transportation and storage.
